Job Description:
Metropolis is seeking a qualified Shipping and Receiving Manager to lead our stockroom operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer products, collectibles, and ecommerce logistics, as well as significant management experience in a stockroom setting. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of our valuable inventory, managing a team of stockroom personnel, implementing automation and technology solutions, and maintaining a safe and organized stockroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Develop Stockroom Team: Manage and mentor stockroom personnel to ensure a high-performing team that delivers unparalleled customer service and maintains a culture of excellence.
- Maintain High Levels of Accuracy, Safety, and Performance: Implement and uphold operational standards to ensure the accuracy, safety, and performance of daily stockroom operations.
- Stockroom Organization: Keep the stockroom clean and organized, ensuring that items are stored and handled with the utmost care.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the stockrooming and inventory of valuable collectibles, ensuring their proper storage and retrieval.
- Implement Stockroom Management Automation and Technology Solutions: Utilize technology to streamline stockroom processes, improve efficiency, and enhance accuracy.
- Stockroom Design and Layout: Manage stockroom design, layout, and material handling solutions to maximize space and optimize workflows.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for the stockroom department, optimizing resource allocation and cost control.
- Process Improvement: Lead structured process improvement projects to increase stockroom efficiency and productivity.
- Digital Transformation: Drive digital transformation initiatives to stay at the forefront of stockroom management technologies.
- Capital and Capacity Planning: Responsible for planning and managing stockroom capacity, including equipment and infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Management Experience: A minimum of 6 years of management experience, including responsibility for front-line associates.
- Supply Chain Experience: A minimum of 6 years of Supply Chain experience with a strong emphasis in Stockrooming and Inventory management.
- Technology Proficiency: Experience in implementing stockroom management automation and technology solutions.
- Stockroom Design: Experience with stockroom design, layout, and material handling solutions.
- Budget Management: Proven experience in developing and managing budgets.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated expertise in leading structured process improvement projects.
- Digital Transformation: Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives within a stockroom environment.
- Staffing and Employee Development: Proficient in leading staffing, employee development, and performance management.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
