Job Title:
Accounts Payable Clerk
- Ensure accuracy in daily invoices and timeliness of processing invoices
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Match invoices to checks and obtain an appropriate signature on checks
- Respond timely to vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies and errors
- Assist in month-end closing
- Maintain all vendor files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
- Work as a part of the office team and participate in continual process improvement and improvement of internal controls.
- Understand the business chart of accounts and general ledger coding
- Understand the business PO process and adherence
- Ability to be consistently at work and on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance.
- Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices
- Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
- Processing Payments via checks and ACH
- Responding to Audit requests for documents
- Spreadsheet maintenance
- Support of front desk when needed
- Assist with other projects as needed
Required
- Associates degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable is preferred.
- Proficient in data entry
- Strong communication, written and verbal skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong working knowledge of computers, including Windows environment, Microsoft products (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), QuickBooks.
- Efficient use of time and ability to adapt to changes in work environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- An ideal candidate will operate with a high level of honesty, transparency, and adherence to checks and balances.
- Ability to work in team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
