Job Overview:
IDG+ Architects is currently seeking a Bookkeeper to support our headquarters. The Bookkeeper will oversee financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate records of accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. The position also includes performing monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and recording payments and adjustments. Additionally, the Bookkeeper may assist with basic HR duties such as new hire documents, compliance, as well as temporary disability insurance and workers’ compensation filings. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, personable, and detail-oriented to effectively support company operations and teams.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes accounts by maintaining records of financial transactions and ensuring legal requirements compliance.
- Assist Management with developing and maintaining a specific Financial Monitoring Strategy
- Defines bookkeeping policies and procedures and develops a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts.
- Verifies, allocates, and posts transactions to maintain subsidiary accounts.
- Reconciles entries to balance subsidiary accounts.
- Transfers subsidiary account summaries to maintain general ledger.
- Prepares a trial balance and reconciles entries to balance general ledger.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Collects, analyzes, and summarizes account information and trends to prepare financial reports.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on necessary actions.
- Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- At least 5 years of professional bookkeeping experience
- Some experience working for an Architecture, Engineering, or Construction firm preferred.
- Actively pursuing CPA preferred
- Experience using Quickbooks and other accounting software
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
