Compensation Range: $55,000.00. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Basic Function: The position provides quality assurance in the receiving and inspecting of parts.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Performs inspection on incoming and in-process parts.
- Performs complete inspection by measuring dimensions using precision instruments such a micrometers, calipers, dial indicator and CMM to ensure parts meet specifications
- Able to locate reference points on part and measure dimensions such as angles, arcs and radii, hole dimensions using combinations of measurement tools such as surface plates, parallel bars, angle plates, gauge blocks, pin gauges, sine bars and precision measuring instruments such as a height gage
- Visually compares work pieces against one another to assess/detect manufacturing variations in process.
- Complete FAIR process for parts as required.
- Accurate and consistent input of data into Inventory System.
- Assess the correct incoming inspection frequency plan for inspecting the various type of commodities, i.e. Dock to Stock, Skip Lot and various AQLs for custom components vs. COTS (Catalog off the Shelf) items
- Reports quality problems or findings in a written format that is distributed to the necessary individuals and departments in a timely manner.
- Manages corrective action protocol
- Works with Purchasing and Engineering group to ensure that the corrective action has/will take place with suppliers
- Maintains record of inspections and prepares list of defects
- Interacts with other departments (production, warehouse, purchasing, engineering) to ensure compliance with specifications and to facilitate the acceptance of parts
Education and Experience:
· A minimum of 5 years previous experience in a Quality Inspection role
· Testing on inspection and measurement is a pre-requisite for this position
· Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering degree a plus
· Formal Quality accreditation i.e. ASQE certification a plus
· Basic Math and Geometry/Trigonometry
