POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Director will work closely with the Senior Director of Advising and Testing and all advising and testing staff in the organization to oversee and lead strategic growth initiations to expand the testing and advising portfolios for Amideast. The employee will work with international field offices to conduct market research and review data analytics to ensure business growth in standardized testing and ensuring that the advising and testing portfolios are profitable. The individual should be focused and creative and have an entrepreneurial spirit. This person will also design and deliver staff training sessions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Business Growth
- In consultation with management, set the strategic direction for the sustainability and growth of advising and testing products and services
- Respond to requests for proposals through managing the process and writing the proposal
- Provide feedback on proposals written by other staff
- Conduct market research towards increasing testing business in Amideast countries and the U.S.
Program Management
- Be knowledgeable about all Advising and Testing services and products
- Understand all standardized test administration processes, including security and financial requirements, and assist with ensuring compliance
- Using existing templates and following Contracts & Grants processes, create and/or update contracts and sub-agreements for clients, ensuring accurate flow-down from original agreements and adherence to Amideast policies
- Understand and review systems and procedures to ensure efficient use of organizational resources
- Oversee the EducationUSA program working with field staff and the U.S. Department of State grants and program officers and the REAC
- Provide support and guidance to key staff in all Amideast offices to ensure that all testing and advising policies are adhered to
Communications
- Prepare program reports and other documentation as required by clients, ensuring reports are submitted on time
- Create slide decks and presentations for staff training and marketing/sales purposes, adhering to Amideast and client branding guidelines, as appropriate
- Represent Amideast to internal and extern clients in meetings and at conferences and events
- Direct marketing activities for the advising and testing portfolios
Financial Management
- Working with the Financial Program Analyst, analyze project financial activity to ensure profitability for the advising and testing portfolios and track adherence to grant budgets
- Review and suggest product pricing by country, taking into account local competitors and buying power
- Develop and monitor budgets for as necessary and provide guidance to field office staff when budgeting for advising and testing services
- Oversee and approve books and testing product inventory and noninventory purchases and payment of invoices
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
- Master’s degree in a field such as business administration, educational or organizational development, or a relevant field
- Five or more years of experience in managing international projects and developing new business
- Knowledge of standardized testing management
- Knowledge of educational advising for U.S. higher education
- Supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial management
- Experience in managing fee for service programs
- Excellent and demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Proposal writing and budgeting experience
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Demonstrated ability to embrace technology for business solutions
- Ability and desire to adapt to changing project and organizational demands
- High, demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills with ability to see the larger picture as well as the details
- Ability to work with hybrid/remote workforce
Preferred
- International experience
- Proficiency in Arabic and/or French
- Experiences working in or with the Middle East and North Africa regions
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office.
