We are seeking a dedicated Development Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support fundraising efforts and assist in the growth and sustainability of our organization.
As the Development Assistant, you are primarily responsible for supporting the President/CEO and the Resource Development Department by providing high-quality and efficient administrative support.
What You Will Do
- Assist in nonprofit management tasks such as donor communications and stewardship
- Produces various types of correspondence, both paper and electronic, including letters, newsletters, meeting minutes, contracts, presentations, and other documents
- Completes donor acknowledgment letters and manages the acknowledgment process
- Completes online forms for in-kind and other donation requests
- Develops expertise in the donor database system
- Maintains data entry and list management
- Maintains and updates records, manuals, spreadsheets, databases, and reports as assigned
- Manage all mailing projects, including bulk mail preparation
- Assists with communications such as social media
- Assists in the planning and logistics of large fundraising events ensuring a high level of donor experience and engagement
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or related degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 year in an administrative support role, with preference given for non-profit experience
Prior experience in event planning to coordinate successful fundraising events
- Excellent coordination and organizational skills, with an ability to think proactively;
- Self-motivated, ability to prioritize work, and adapt to competing demands.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, good judgment, and solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with others.
- Strong Microsoft Office, planning, and time management skills
