PURPOSE OF JOB:
A nonexempt position responsible for supporting individual patients through the continuum of healthcare as it pertains to Cardiac Testing. Responsible for clerical support for Arrhythmia services and cardiac procedure scheduling. Responsible for data entry and other services related to arrhythmia service, provides support for Cardiac procedure scheduling and cardiac front desk staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Cardiac Testing Patient Navigation
2. Scheduling and Verification
3. Performs selected clerical and administrative duties to assist arrhythmia services, and physicians as part of the care team
4. Performs other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Experience: Two years of experience, preferably in a health care environment. Cardiology Background helpful
Other Skills: EMR Knowledge (ECW and Meditech Experience preferred but not required)
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and organization services.
2. Knowledge of individual responsibilities to accurately direct callers.
3. Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations related to patient information.
4. Knowledge of organizations policies and procedures
5. Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures.
Skills:
1. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Must be able to interact with administration, physicians and other department personnel on a daily basis.
2. Skill in using computers.
3. Skill in using multi-line phone system, including transferring calls and paging.
4. Skill in exercising sound judgment and remaining professional at all time.
5. Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.
Abilities:
1. Ability to elicit appropriate information to properly direct patients.
2. Ability to calm, or defuse irate callers and patients by working with them to identify concerns develop solutions to problems.
3. Ability to multi-task and organize work for effective completion.
4. Ability to be punctual and available for daily assigned work.

7. Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
