SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - SUNRISE
Founded in 1975, The Help Group is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit of its kind in the United States serving children with special needs related to autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, developmental delays, abuse and emotional problems.
We are currently seeking a Special Education Teacher for our School located at our Sherman Oaks Campus which offers comprehensive special education day school programs for students,
Ages 18-22, with moderate global delays associated with autism and other developmental disabilities. The primary goal is to enable each student to realize his/her fullest potential and to become as independent as possible.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Credential or qualify for emergency credential. Must be Highly Qualified, in accordance with California Department of Education requirements, in the area of specialization. Teaching experience in a population of Moderate/Severe is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Employ a trans-disciplinary approach to education, conferring with team members as appropriate for particular issues.
- Select appropriate curriculum content for each student.
- Determine appropriate, measurable goals and objectives for each student.
- Write Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each student, participate in I.E.P. meetings, and implement IEPs.
- Manage student behavior.
- Evaluate student progress and collect data.
- Supervise classroom staff.
- Work with parents.

Salary :
$48,916.00 - $54,000.00 for PIP/STP/Intern
$56,107.00 - $91,500.00 for Credentialed
