We’re looking for a Sr. Level Controls Engineer / Team Lead to join our team at our Columbus, Ohio location! This position will focus on managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, have a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. The position will generally be task oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work.
This position will be responsible for managing a team of professional services engineers. This includes, but is not limited to, performance management, coaching/mentoring, scheduling, etc. Typically, team size is 4-7 individuals, but may vary depending on circumstances.
General Job Duties:
- Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on Controls Systems
- Designing, developing and implementing solutions to resolve customer issues
- Consulting with and training end users on new applications
- Planning, designing, and overseeing projects, as well as monitoring/controlling budgets, and supervising one or more engineering personnel
- Scheduling of work activities for self and team
- Coordinate and balance workload using both internal and external resources to complete scheduled engineering activities, as required
- Assisting in project development and planning
- Performing onsite pilots, testing and demos as needed
- The location of the position is our Columbus, Ohio location at 111 Outerbelt St, Columbus, Ohio 43213
- This position requires independent travel (day trips) to client locations and generally 15% or less overnight travel
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field. An equivalent combination of experience and training may also be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience with:
- PLC Programming experience (Rockwell experience required)
- HMI and/or SCADA development/programming experience (FactoryTalk View and/or Inductive Automation experience preferred)
- Electrical Controls Circuit and Control Panel Design
- Onsite Startup & Commissioning
- Acute attention to detail and process, Strong ability to solve problems and research solutions and excellent customer service attitude
- Strong business acumen, ability to make decisions, and to take responsibility for outcomes
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations

The target annual base compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 based upon relevant qualifications.
