The PTA assists in the rehabilitation and restoration of normal body functions of patients following illness or injury, ensuring that the care provided is patient-centered, safe, timely, cost-effective, and performed with excellence. Requires supervision of a licensed physical therapist
Essential Functions:
- Performs planned services that are delegated and supervised by the Physical Therapist to meet the patient’s goals and needs
- Helps patient accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises, instructing, encouraging and assisting patients in performance of physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory function activities and daily-living activities and in use of assistive and support devices such as ambulation aids and prosthesis, and maintenance therapy
- Follow the Plan of Care while adhering to Agency policy under the supervision of the Physical Therapist
- Meets regularly with the PT to update client progress and needs
- Participates in case conference and team meetings
- Makes visits as scheduled and participates in on-call rotation as required
- Maintains patient rights and dignity
- Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
- Meet mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board and participate in inservice programs.
- Use effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to advise and consult with the family and other agency personnel as appropriate.
- Promote Agency philosophy and administrative policies.

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
