Machine Operator / Laser Operator (Salary DOE)
Currently seeking an Operator responsible for running various machines including a Laser cutting system. Operator is responsible for unloading/de-nesting cut parts, prepping/de-burring parts, and identifying and organizing/sorting cut parts in a Just-in-time fabrication shop. Experience in previous Laser Operation is beneficial but not necessary. This position also may be required to operate a CNC Brake or Water Jet. Duties include:
· Check material thickness for accuracy and load material onto laser.
· De-nest and remove laser oxide from parts.
· Perform all dimensional inspections.
· Use forklifts and overhead cranes to maneuver projects.
· Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
· Identify and solve machine alignment and cut condition problems.
· Troubleshoot minor program errors independently.
· Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.
· Assist with any other duties as assigned
· Work well with engineering and operations
· Be dependable, follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility for own actions, keep commitments, commit to long hours of work when needed to reach goals and complete tasks on time, or notify appropriate person with an alternate plan of action.
Qualifications:
· High degree of personal accountability, computer skills, and ability to read fabrication and technical documents.
· Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position. Lifting, twisting and bending.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Production – Operate the equipment, make sure the correct program and material is being used.
· Perform quality inspections as specified for the production run. Report results as required.
· Scrap Handling – ensure proper sorting and handling of non-conforming parts and/or scrap material.
· Departmental Maintenance – Clean and maintain the space as directed. Potential to learn maintenance on the departmental equipment.
· Feedback – provide feedback to the programmers on efficiency and effectiveness of the programs to improve quality/speed/etc.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift weights appropriate to assigned task (Mechanical lifts are available for heavier loads).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
