Sweitzer Waste is a family-owned solid waste recycling hauling company serving residential and commercial customers in the central CT Shoreline region. It provides trash and recycling pick-up and roll-off dumpster service. It has a strong local reputation and has been under the sane management for 25 years.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating P&L accountability
- Supervision and employee performance management of Dispatch, Drivers, Customer Service, Maintenance Shop Operations & Mechanics
- Support of residential and commercial sales
- Service level quality
- Operations and asset efficiency
Qualifications for the job MUST include:
- Management and supervisory experience
- Having been a role where accountable for a unit’s financial performance
- Experience in the solid waste industry or a VERY SIMILAR business (including trucks, drivers, dispatch, maintenance mechanics and customer service)
- Experience with utilizing operational reports for analysis and to implement actions to drive improvement
- Ability to enroll and inspire a team to perform well in service to customers and the business
- Ability to manage employee performance issues and hold the organization accountable to operate within company policies, procedures and guidelines
- Experience acting as the ultimate escalation level in handling customer issues
This job is an excellent opportunity to manage an organization to high performance without the red tape and bureaucratic procedures that are natural within large public waste management companies. You will report directly to the Owner who has 30 + years of Waste Industry experience to guide and counsel, while having the authority to make all key operational decisions once proven.
