PURPOSE OF POSITION:*
The Vascular Technologist will prepare and perform vascular examinations on patients and prepare preliminary reports on dedicated software.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Uses ultrasound equipment to direct high-frequency sound waves to a prescribed area of the patient's body and capture quality images that describe the composition, shape and motion of tissues, organs, vessels and pathology.
- Perform vascular diagnostic studies including peripheral venous, peripheral arterial and visceral, cerebrovascular.
- Summarizes, documents, verifies and presents images, findings, calculations and measurements to physicians for diagnoses.
- Adheres to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, precautions and standards.
- Provides direct patient care, including assessing patient condition and ability to cooperate.
- Prepares and positions patients for procedures and completes exam in a timely manner.
- Maintains accurate records, by ensuring the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
- Prepares rooms and patients for subsequent ultrasound procedures.
- Verifies operational status of equipment prior to daily utilization.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- An Associates Degree in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited college.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certified. ARDMS certification required.
- 2+ years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound and/or vascular ultrasound experience in a hospital setting.
- Current certification in BLS.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
