PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Vascular Technologist will prepare and perform vascular examinations on patients and prepare preliminary reports on dedicated software.
JOB DESCRIPTION:

Uses ultrasound equipment to direct high-frequency sound waves to a prescribed area of the patient's body and capture quality images that describe the composition, shape and motion of tissues, organs, vessels and pathology.

Perform vascular diagnostic studies including peripheral venous, peripheral arterial and visceral, cerebrovascular.

Summarizes, documents, verifies and presents images, findings, calculations and measurements to physicians for diagnoses.

Adheres to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, precautions and standards.

Provides direct patient care, including assessing patient condition and ability to cooperate.

Prepares and positions patients for procedures and completes exam in a timely manner.

Maintains accurate records, by ensuring the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.

Prepares rooms and patients for subsequent ultrasound procedures.

Verifies operational status of equipment prior to daily utilization.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

An Associates Degree in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited college.

Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certified. ARDMS certification required.

2+ years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound and/or vascular ultrasound experience in a hospital setting.

Current certification in BLS.
