The Miami Township Police Department is hiring both Entry Level (OPOTA CERTIFIED) and Lateral Transfers.

The city of Miamisburg is located within Miami Township and occupies approximately 11 square miles, with approximately 20,000 residents. The unincorporated portion of Miami Township contains approximately 21 square miles with approximately 30,000 residents. Miami Township is 11 miles from downtown Dayton and 41 miles from downtown Cincinnati.

As part of our continuing desire to become the premier police department in Ohio, we were accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in July 2017. Specialty assignments include School Resource Officer, Detective, Community Resource Officer, Bike Patrol, Special Operations Unit, Drone Pilot, Technical Crash Investigator, Evidence Technician, and promotional opportunities.

Responsibilities:
- Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain public safety and order
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect criminal activity
- Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests when necessary
- Write detailed reports on incidents, accidents, and observations
- Provide traffic control and enforce traffic laws
- Assist with crowd control at public events or gatherings
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on joint operations or investigations

Schedule:
-8.5 hours daily
Five days-on/ two days off...five days-on/ three days off rotating days off
