Senior Database Engineer - IoT & Big Data Specialist
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Proven expertise in web-based applications for managing and accessing complex big data.
- IoT Knowledge: Deep understanding of common IoT architectures and tools.
- Security: Proficient in system design with a focus on cybersecurity and SecOps principles.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Industry Insight: Experience with automotive or heavy-duty construction/industrial equipment data.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with Azure cloud tools, especially Azure Data Explorer.
- Adaptability: Ability to excel in a startup-like culture, handle ambiguity, and tackle technical challenges head-on.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Enhancement: Plan, develop, and implement improvements and changes to existing timeseries and SQL databases.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve data discrepancies within a contextual framework.
- Validation: Perform rigorous testing to validate database behavior and changes.
- Systematic Testing: Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive test sequences.
- Feature Support: Implement database changes to support new features identified by the product team.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical advice to junior developers and software engineers.
- Innovation: Research and propose new software/technologies to enhance product development.
- Technical Design: Prepare and present technical solution design proposals.
