Licensure in Moderate Disabilities PreK-8 and Early Childhood PreK-2 or Elementary 1-6

Direct assignment to the building principal for the delivery of services identified in the IEP, and related program issues

Implement research-based interventions

Monitor the efficacy and effectiveness of utilized interventions

Serve as the Special Education liaison for the identified grade level

Plan and carry out daily lesson plans related to Common Core Curriculum Standards

Consults regularly with the Regular Education teachers regarding ways to meet the needs of those special needs students assigned to their classroom and teaches interventions to those students in both a push in and pull out model

Works with school staff to promote maximum integration of children with special needs

Chair all Review and Annual Review meetings of students

Assist in the development of appropriate educational plans

Ensure the orderly and timely implementation of those educational plans

Confer with the parents of special needs students as needed

Assist in the maintenance of required records

Submit to the Principal and Director of Special Education schedules and reports as required

Collaborate with other Special Educators and Regular Education Teachers on cases requiring joint participation in implementing educational plans
