FINANCE AND PAYROLL MANAGER
The Finance and Payroll Manager at Saluhall will oversee our financial operations and payroll processes. This is a stand alone role and therefore the ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and payroll management; with a keen eye for detail that can analyze everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Business partnering with all internal and external stakeholders, to ensure a clear understanding and communication of financial requirements and processes
Processing of sales
Monthly sales tax disclosures and filings
Working with BDO to ensure financial compliance, and support with any new initiates that are passed.
Manage and oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
Accounts receivable - management of sales ledger
Raising sales invoices for internally operated areas, ensuring accuracy of data entry
Raising sales invoices to 3rd party vendors, ensuring accuracy of data entry
Setting up and working with line manager to ensure accounts are settled within the agreed payment terms and that the terms are input into the system correctly
Accounts payable - management of purchase ledger
Reviewing PO log against supplier invoices received
Following up with key personnel if further authorization is required
Setting up new suppliers on the system, ensuring all W-9 are collated and filed
Reconciling supplier accounts on a bi weekly basis
Weekly payment runs in line with vendor credit terms
Maintaining a good working relationship with external suppliers, to ensure no impact on operational delivery
Compile monthly financial reporting with commentary in line with agreed deadlines
Leading on compiling the 1099 disclosure on an annual basis
Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities and make recommendations where necessary
Review financial forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities to the management team
Assisting with the annual budgeting process, ensuring all internal stakeholders are consulted and aligned with forecasted plans
Working with BDO to ensure financial compliance, and support with any new initiates that are passed.
Process payroll accurately and on time, including calculations for taxes, deductions, bonuses, and overtime.
Collaborate with HR and other departments to address payroll and financial inquiries.
PAYROLL RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the People Manager to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Review of weekly payroll on 7Shifts to ensure hours worked have been correctly captured
Processing of weekly payroll via ADP, ensuring this is submitted within deadline for employees to be paid
Ensuring the necessary filings are completed in line with regulatory requirements
Maintaining records to provide back up when required
Reconciliation files of all key items that align with financial/ reporting requirements
Management of ADP relationship
Onboard new starters and process leavers
Manage any team queries or questions
SYSTEMS
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
Proven experience as a Financial Manager/Controller, 3-5 years of experience
Experience in a stand alone role, ideally within the hospitality or leisure sector
Understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
Proficient user of finance software
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, to both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used/followed
Demonstrable experience of managing California payrol
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
3-5 years experience working with ADP Workforce Now required
Minimum 2 years experience with 7Shifts is essential
Working knowledge of all San Francisco and US labor guidelines
Passion for the hospitality industry and offering a financial operation focused on Saluhall’s core values: Kind, Welcome, Driven
BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred
Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 annually. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
