- Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A is an Early Childhood to Eighth Grade School District located in Lemont, Illinois.
- Drives a school bus safely in accordance with time schedules, transporting students to and from their designated bus stop/s and other school-related activities.
- Observes all mandatory traffic, safety, and security regulations and procedures for school busses.
- Maintains order and proper discipline of passengers, resolving disputes, and documenting and reporting severe disciplinary cases.
- Operates a two-way radio or other District communication system.
- Assures maintenance of bus safety and clean operating conditions; reports needed mechanical repairs.
- Conducts pre and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles daily.
- Maintains a variety of records and reports including but not limited to mileage, routing, maintenance, time schedules, and accident reports.
- Conducts routes according to established records and procedures; assists with other routes when a breakdown or other unusual circumstances occur, as assigned.
- May operate a special ramp bus which includes: Loads and unloads students in wheelchairs on and off the bus; inspects wheelchair for operational safety and permits only properly functioning wheelchairs to load; operates ramp; assures seatbelts are fastened; and positions and secures wheelchair in the bus.
- Monitors students with special health conditions while they are on the bus; receives handwritten or oral instructions; remains aware and alert to any signs of difficulty and calls for emergency assistance, if needed.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect the health and safety of students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Complies with all contractual duties, Board of Education policies, and administrative procedures; adheres to state and federal laws and regulations. Exhibits ethical behavior and integrity and maintains confidentiality for all school-related responsibilities.
- Maintains a positive attitude toward job-related growth and development.
- Develops and maintains positive and active relations and effective communications with students, staff, parents, community members, and community organizations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/s or Superintendent
