Summary
Assists teacher in providing the developmental and care needs of children while helping to maintain a quality program at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Child Development Center. Helps to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Education and Formal Training:
High School diploma required with 2 years’ experience in a professional childcare setting. Proof of course completion in NC Credentials EDU119 Early Childhood Development with six (6) additional hours in Early Childhood Development from an accredited school required. Out of state coursework must be reviewed by the NC Division of Childhood Development. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Work Experience:
At least 2 years of responsible classroom experience in a professional childcare setting and or elementary school.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social characteristics of children ages birth to
five years. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Work involves a variety of activities to include walking, standing, and lifting of children and various objects. Ability to communicate effectively and visually observe children in the classroom.
