The RN Supervisor provides unit-based staff and clinical oversight to his or her assigned unit and shift. He or she is responsible for providing supervision to all unit staff; direct nursing care to residents; completing comprehensive shift rounds; ensuring communication during inter-shift report; and assisting with the admission and discharge of residents. The ideal incumbent will possess both strong clinical and managerial skills. A high degree of empathy and interpersonal awareness is critical, as is the ability to take initiative and act in accordance with Wartburg philosophies and standards.
RN Supervisor responsibilities:
- Provides direct nursing care according to professional standards, facility policy, and physician orders.
- Operates units with a high degree of fiscal responsibility.
- Participates in the admission and discharge of residents and performs rounds.
- Provides clinical supervision is required as well as supervision to direct reports.
- Maintains and develops work -related knowledge and skills through continuous learning activities, attendance at in-services and workshops, etc.
- Completes special projects/ tasks in support of effective department functioning as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- A current RN License is required.
- 3-5 years previous experience in a sub-acute or long-term care setting is required, as is previous management experience.
- Preference given to those with management experience in a long-term care setting.
