We have a Safety Resource Developer position available in NY for you! Based out of East Syracuse, we are looking for a good natured, eager and organized individual to take on construction safety all things safety-related, from conducting safety inspections to training workers on safety protocols and reporting accidents. regional management in the upstate New York region.

The position is responsible for the following:
· Reports Directly to the President
· Work proactively with contractors to identify job classifications where exposures occur or could occur.
· Examine the contractor’s records to identify jobs according to exposure hazards, review injury/illness records and consult with jobsite supervision.
· Conduct walk-through surveys of workplace areas where hazards exist or may exist to identify sources of hazards to employees, with special attention paid to the OSHA “Local or National Emphasis Programs focus” hazards.
· Note PPE currently in use (type and purpose); conditions that may lead to struck by injuries (machinery/equipment that could result in collision with stationary objects); risks that could result in electrocutions, caught-in-between hazards, respiratory hazards and fall prevention.
· Improve existing safety training, policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
· Instructing workers in the identification and avoidance of hazards, use of PPE and engineered safety solutions, obligations under OSHA, and jobsite safety rules and practices, including delivery of the OSHA 10/30-hour construction safety outreach program to contractors and their employees.
· Measuring the impact of the training by conducting ongoing jobsite risk assessments and safety audits to gauge improvements in safety performance.
· Conduct safety inspections of construction sites and equipment shops to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
· Train and educate contractor field and management employees on safety practices and procedures, specifically focusing on the Local or National Emphasis Programs focus hazards, correlating risk factors and hazard awareness through delivery of the OSHA 10 & 30 outreach courses.
· Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents and provide recommendations for improvement.
· Inspect safety equipment/PPE to ensure it is properly maintained and in good working condition.
· Review OSHA compliance records to ensure all required documentation is up to date.
· Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement safety plans for new projects.
· Work with management to continuously improve safety programs and initiatives.
· Engage contractors and workers to provide formal feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of the HAB OSH-TE program.
The Merit Alliance SOP proposal is to directly employ a full-time, safety professional to deliver the components of Merit Alliance SOP to no less than 92 contractors who will each enroll 24 trainees in 36 hours of training, plus provide no less than 8 hours of onsite safety inspection/audit services and consultations for those contractors.
The minimum qualifications for the Safety Resource Developer are:
· 5+ years of experience in safety management in construction and equipment shops
· Current OSHA certification to teach OSHA outreach courses under Construction CFR 1926.
· Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards
· Excellent communication and leadership skills
· Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other safety software programs
Base Salary: 95k-105k per year (DOE); Exempt, Full Time
