We are a locally-owned mental health care organization in Denver providing substance abuse and mental health services to supervised criminal justice clients. Our mission and values focus on providing quality, evidenced-based treatment in service of our clients and the community.
This position provides mental health services and support related to competency restoration in the Jefferson County Detention Facility, a 1400-bed facility with both male and female inmates. (This is a state-funded position and may end after 12 months if the bidding contract is not renewed.)
We are currently seeking to hire for one full-time position. The position consists of managing a caseload of individuals for whom competency has been raised in court. The clinicians meet with the individuals directly for an initial evaluation to assess for acuity level and treatment needs. Subsequently, our team then works on building rapport, encouraging compliance with mental health and psychiatry in the facility, engaging individuals refusing medication before restoration, maintaining engagement with individuals returning from restoration settings, and reentry planning. As part of the job, our clinicians work alongside State and community-based organizations, and function as a member of an interdisciplinary team designed to support individuals throughout the competency process.
The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, during daytime hours in the jail setting.
We have a collaborative and friendly culture, supported by the value we place on supervision, training, and the professional development of our team.
