Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Shift Leader to join our team at Steak ‘n Shake. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the restaurant staff during your assigned shift. Your primary goal will be to ensure the efficient operation of the restaurant, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory Duties:
- Lead and supervise a team of crew members during your shift.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure that the restaurant operates smoothly.
- Provide training and guidance to new employees and assist in their development
Customer Service:
- Ensure that customers receive prompt, friendly, and efficient service.
- Address customer complaints and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Maintain a welcoming and positive atmosphere in the restaurant.
Operational Efficiency:
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to the management.
Quality Control:
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
Financial Management:
- Handle cash registers and ensure accurate cash handling procedures.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting.
- Help control costs by managing labor and food expenses effectively.
Team Collaboration:
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Encourage teamwork and resolve conflicts among staff members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a restaurant or retail sales
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
- Basic understanding of financial and inventory management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity required for operating equipment and handling food.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
