POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HR Generalist 1 is responsible for providing support in the areas of all HR functions including talent attraction, hiring, and compensation and benefits. The primary responsibility for this level will be supporting the administrative tasks of the HR functions. This job is a full-time position.
The incumbent is expected to communicate professionally with peers, supervisors, subordinates, vendors, customers, and the public, and to be respectful and courteous in the conduct of this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Essential job functions include the following. Other functions assigned as business conditions change.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
Assist with payroll processing as requested from finance.
Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation.
Collaborate with the human resources team to develop effective recruitment strategies.
Identify future staffing needs.
Maintain employee personnel records, manage HR documents, and update internal databases.
Contribute to the workflow with regular attendance.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs related or other assigned duties as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalency.
Certification(s): HR certification (PHR or SPHR) preferred within first year of hire or promotion to the position.
Minimum Experience: One year in an office or professional setting required or appropriate combination of education and experience. HR experience preferred.
Other Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- PC skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio. Must be able to adapt to software changes as they occur.
- Must be detailed-orientated and have strong organizational skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- Ability to project a professional image and positive attitude in any work environment.
- Ability to comply with privacy and confidentiality standards.
- Ability to be flexible, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems with professionalism and patience.
- Ability to operate typical office equipment.
- Working knowledge of general office procedures.
