About Us: Gas Money is a mobile app that enables high school and college students to earn money doing simple services for homeowners (such as lawn mowing, landscaping, and other odd jobs). We are passionate about motivation, advice, and entrepreneurship, and our goal is to produce entertaining, relevant content on social media to increase engagement and drive user downloads/revenue.
As we begin to grow our team, we are seeking a passionate marketing student (or professional) to assist with promotion across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Since we are headquartered in Genesee County, MI, it is preferred that you live near Genesee County to assist with on-the-job shoots (we will assist with travel expenses within 15 miles).
Summary: As a Marketing and Social Media Intern for Gas Money, your primary responsibility is to produce consistent content and increase engagement across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. We will provide you with branding templates, ideas, and targets, but we encourage you to be creative and present ideas of your own. We also encourage the use of AI for copy or images, as long as they remain consistent with our brand image.
What you’ll do:
- Work closely with our team to align content with overall brand strategy and goals.
- Assist with maintaining the company’s social media profiles and presence, ensuring consistency in branding and messaging.
- Help monitor social media trends, audience preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Respond to comments and DMs on social media platforms.
- Create engaging graphics, slides, short-form content, and captions.
- Edit and create short-form videos from job sites, podcasts, and motivational content.
- Perform additional duties as needed (such as creating content for our website or blog, if applicable).
- Consistent posts/engagements across all three listed platforms.
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent computer and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in social media, graphic design, and video editing (experience preferred, but coursework may be applicable)
- Proficient with current technologies and trends in social media and photo/video editing tools/applications
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas.
- Must have discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications:
High school diploma, working towards a degree in marketing, communication, or related field.

Payment will be discussed over remote interview and there will be eligibility to receive stipend based on performance. Expected hours: 15-20 hours per week.
