The Oaks at Denville is a Springpoint Senior Living community located in Denville , NJ. We are seeking a Per Diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. At Springpoint, the COTA aids in providing rehabilitative services to persons with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments.
Responsibilities:
- Works under the direction of occupational therapists to plan, implement, or administer programs that restore or enhance performance in individuals with functional impairments.
- Monitors patients' performance in therapy activities and provides encouragement.
- Assists in instructing patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the care and use of adaptive equipment.
- Observes and records patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior.
- Assists occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans.
- Reports to supervisors on patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior.
- Performs clerical duties.
Education and Experience:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited therapy program
- 1-2 years working as an OT Assistant or related experience
- Current NJ Occupational Therapy State License
