Position Overview
Mechanic will learn to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on company fleet of heavy equipment and other duties around the shop.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Learn to maintaining and repairing heavy duty equipment.
· Be willing to learn maintenance and repair of heavy equipment
· Diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment and trucks including issues with diesel, hydraulics, heavy equipment needs.
· Performs preventive maintenance schedules, required inspections and winterization procedures.
· Responds to equipment repair needs, in the field, as required by conducting and / or coordinating repair activities.
· Corrects equipment deficiencies by replacing, repairing, or adjusting sub-assemblies.
· Verifies all adjustments or repairs.
· Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements.
· Maintains assigned equipment appearance, if assigned, by cleaning and washing.
· Maintains equipment records by documenting all services and repairs and filing them on site.
· Assists with deliveries of heavy equipment to the job sites.
· Updates and improves technical knowledge and ability by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulatory publications.
Skills and Qualifications:
· 1-2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
· Technical/vocational school degree preferred.
· Excellent problem solving and communication skills
· Must have Class A CDL or willing to obtain one in the first year of employment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:
- Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CDL Class A Driver's License (Preferred)
