We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. As an Animal Caretaker, you will be responsible for providing quality care and support to animals in our facility. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about animal welfare and have experience in animal handling and care.
Duties:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and cleaning of kennels or cages
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the appropriate team members
- Assist with administering medications or treatments as directed by doctors.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for animals, ensuring proper hygiene and infection control measures are followed
- Handle animals safely and appropriately, using proper restraint techniques when necessary
- Assist with laboratory procedures, such as collecting urine and stool samples
- Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of animals in our care
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or similar setting is preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior, handling techniques, and basic pet care
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices is a plus
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
