As the Strategic Product Manager, you will be focusing on cultivating a blend of market awareness, industry knowledge, foresight, and creativity to deliver collateral material that conveys our value proposition to our sales teams and customer base. You will be responsible for gathering the voice of the customer results, determining competitive advantages, and identifying feature and benefit requirements to determine our market position. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and industry stakeholders to market our product differentiation and clearly communicate our product vision.
- Conduct market research and compile a competitive analysis of products and key industry players. Convert researched data into simplified training materials.
- Understand our business, our competitors, our strengths and opportunities to educate the field teams on how to sell our products and convey our value proposition to our customers.
- Create and maintain all collateral for in-house and customer-facing sales & training initiatives.
- Identify specific competitors who are leading and lagging in our industry by adapting to different customer channels of feedback. (i.e. social media groups, construction organizations, feedback forums, surveys, etc.)
- Collaborate with the marketing and digital strategy COE’s to create and maintain product content that drives external communication via advertising, social media, trade magazines, etc.
- Develop product bulletins and additional support materials to promote our brand and communicate product changes and updates to the field
- Participate in dealer events and trade shows as needed
- Participate in required safety program and work in a safe manner.
- Additional duties as assigned by leader.
To be successful in this position you should have prior experience in the heavy equipment industry. This could include a product support sales rep, territory sales manager, or product management experience. Prior sales and management experience would be preferred, along with excellent analytical, organization and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience
- 5+ years of Product Management experience
- Strong proficiency in computers and a basic understanding of Microsoft operating systems
- Experience with training teams both in-person and virtual
- Exceptional written and verbal communication is required
- Self-starter and goal oriented
- Construction or heavy equipment industry experience
- Product knowledge of heavy machinery
