We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Specialist/Buyer to handle Procurement/Supply Chain activities.
The Supply Chain Specialist’s responsibilities include manage/coordinate the whole order fulfillment process, developing and managing supplier performance, implementing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive win-win relationship with suppliers, and coordinating/monitoring with Suppliers, Internal Teams, Warehouse and Freight-forwarders and the different aspects of the Order Fulfillment Process to meet required deadlines. You will be teamed with an internal project manager, the combination of which will be responsible for the complete and on-time delivery of specific sales orders.
You will manage all aspects of purchasing activity and inventory control for the set of vendors assigned, including international suppliers. You will generate and monitor Purchase Orders, Deliveries, Inventory transactions and Reconcile all Inventory discrepancies. The Supply Chain Specialist will also actively collaborate to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers, which includes product upgrades and lead time improvements.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage daily purchasing activities
- Manage supplier relations and collaborate in negotiating Supplier Agreements, Prices, Lead Times, Performance Expectations, etc.
- Maintain the Procurement/Supply Chain ERP database, purchase records and related documentation
- Propose improvements to the current Supply Chain Process that will improve Vendor Performance and the overall Material and Information flow
- Collaborate with the Demand Management activities, working with Operations and Sales Departments to develop metrics to monitor and improve supply chain performance and gauging required inventory level
- Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications
- Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets
- Research cost and availability of components and materials
- Generate, submit and monitor Purchase Orders and Deliveries to vendors
- Effectively communicate closely with vendors and internal departments to ensure goods are delivered in a timely manner
- Track and receive all shipments from vendors
- Process inventory transactions and reconcile inventory discrepancies
- Work with A/R and Sales for all billable inventory transactions
- Analyze customer requirements from multiple sources against inventory to ensure adequate and on-time supply of finished goods to the Customer
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3+ years' Purchasing experience
- International procurement a plus
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain, Demand Management and Inventory Control required
- Experience as a Buyer or in a similar position in Supply Chain
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong & Proactive critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a Team environment
- Experience working with ERP/MRP Systems - NetSuite, preferred
