Medical Office Front Desk Personal
Requirements:
Strong computer, customer service, communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of medical supplies.
They also must know how to interact with doctors, other professional staff.
Greets visitors and maintains registering of patients as they enter the clinic.
Provides phone, clerical, and data entry support including some insurance verification.
Directs patients, visitors, and callers to appropriate parties and answers basic questions.
Requires a high school diploma.
Reports to a supervisor or manager.
Must have a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
May perform some administrative activities such as receiving and sending mail and packages.
May help to complete security procedures.
Responsibilities Include:
Front Desk Duties
- Greet, Check-in, & host patients.
- Keep pens, superbills, new patient paperwork for each doctor, sign-in sheets, &
business cards stocked.
- Receive and send out packages for Fed-Ex & UPS
- Print schedules for photographer & communicate changes in the schedule
- Complete Day Sheet
- Track Petty Cash
- Collect payments & write receipt

- Clean Exam Rooms
- Wipe surfaces counter tops, chair/exam table, mayo tray, & drawer handles w/ Soni Cloths
- Use glass cleaner for hand mirror and large mirrors.
- Check biohazard bag & sharps bin under the sink. o Empty bags and bin when full.
o Biohazard box is in the storage closet in the Manager's office.
o Sharps bin should be closed and put into the box when full.
Stock Exam Rooms
- Important items: Alcohol wipes, 4x4 gauze, 4x4 sterile gauze, tongue depressors, cotton swabs, tape measure & mirror.
- All items in exam rooms need to be stocked at all times! Check drawers, shelves, and
under the sink.
