The Pink Elephant Restaurant an upscale Comfort-Casual Restaurant, owned by the Gasparilla Inn and Club, located on Boca Grande, Florida. We are is seeking an energetic and experienced Sous Chef, to assist in the overall kitchen operations. Full-Time, Salary, Management Position. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, strong work ethic, results oriented person
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to train, educate and motivate staff to perform to the standards set by the company.
- Responsible for the food production and Kitchen service of the Restaurant.
- plays an integral role in managing the food production operations while ensuring the guest experience.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment while remaining focused on the overall guest satisfaction.
- Must be aligned with the culinary vision and philosophy of The Gasparilla Inn and Club.
- Works to achieve high levels of personal and organizational performance.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to, communicate with and motivate employees to sustained high performance and quality levels
- Supervise and participate in the production, preparation and presentation to ensure consistent high-quality food, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
- Understands food safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required with a stable progressive career history.
- Minimum of 2 years Sous Chef experience in a full service, high-volume, restaurant along with advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession, Culinary degree or apprenticeship preferred program.
- Responsible for providing a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all standards and regulations and achieves profitable, competitive quality products
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, work well under pressure, and meet multiple & sometimes competing deadlines
- Coordinates inventory, purchasing, pricing and distribution of supplies with other Chefs
