We are growing and are looking for a (Sr.) Project Manager for a residential infill in the City of Portland and Vancouver, WA construction company, where you will be responsible for overseeing and driving overall project management activities for the company.
Reporting to the ownership, you will play a pivotal role in managing projects, maintain quality, and manage various relationships such as subcontractors, inspectors, City officials, neighbors, and other key community members. As such, professionalism and communication skills are a critical to the success of the role. In addition, you will participate in various process business improvement initiatives, and this role will provide growth opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in new construction management, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
· Project Management: Oversee projects day-to-day operations, including scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and resource allocation.
· Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and deadlines, and proactively identify and address any potential delays or obstacles.
· Quality Control: Regularly review engineering, architectural drawings and specifications to monitor progress and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and building codes. Implement and enforce quality control processes and procedures to ensure that work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
· Budget and Cost Management: Work with various stakeholders to develop budgets, monitor project budgets and expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and take proactive measures to control costs and maximize profitability.
· Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers, including negotiating pricing as needed, monitoring performance, and resolving any issues or disputes.
· Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety inspections and promoting a culture of safety among employees and subcontractors.
· Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during escalation periods, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing any concerns or inquiries, and ensuring overall client satisfaction.
· Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity, and collaborate with the ownership team to implement innovative solutions.
· Innovation and Technology: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and leverage innovative solutions to drive operational excellence and competitive advantage.
· Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, including project status, financial metrics, and key performance indicators, to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 4 years within the construction industry, with a strong background in project management and operations.
· A college degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field preferred; and/or combination of education and experience.
· Understanding contracts, plans, specifications, and is knowledgeable about construction methods, materials, regulations, can read engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings.
· Well versed in state and local construction codes, regulations, requirements, and practices.
· Knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials, as well as relevant regulations and safety standards.
· Applicants must be in good physical condition, able to perform the work and walk the site (ex: uneven surfaces and long distances between structures).
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
· Software and technology inclined mindset, and familiarity with Google Suite or Microsoft Office Suite, and/or other relevant tools and technologies.
· Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency and performance.
· Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster a positive work environment, own results, and lead by example.
· Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
· Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation & Benefits (To discuss):
