Responsibilities include courteously and professionally greeting patients, answering phones, obtaining demographic and verifying insurance information, obtaining required referrals and authorizations, entering information into a computerized medical record, preparing patient charts, communicating financial information, requesting and receiving payments, and making patient follow-up appointments, while maintaining patient confidentiality. - Treats peers, superiors, subordinates, patients and vendors with fairness, courtesy and professionalism and contribute to the overall positive work environment of the clinic
- Reports to work at the scheduled time, demonstrate consistent and regular attendance, and consistently works the duration of the scheduled shift
- Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains clean, orderly waiting room and work area and prepares the office for opening and closing
- Answers phone promptly and in a pleasant manner and deals with callers needs expeditiously, such as making appointments, taking messages for the clinical staff, etc
- Verify insurance and updates information in electronic patient charts and patient portal according to policy, when needed.
- Send patient welcome notifications.
- Interacts in a consistently professional and courteous manner with co-workers, patients, physicians and all others with whom contact occurs in the workplace
- Ensures office Ipads are charged and other office equipment working properly
- Calls and confirms patient appointments, particularly those with high patient deductibles
- Treats peers, superiors, subordinates, patients and vendors with fairness, courtesy and professionalism and contribute to the overall positive work environment of the clinic
- Reports to work at the scheduled time, demonstrate consistent and regular attendance, and consistently work the duration of the scheduled shift
- Call patients that have cancelled to ensure they are re-scheduled and ensure reason for cancellation is documented
- Perform other Job Activities as assigned per office location

Education and Experience:
High School graduate or equivalent
1-3 years medical office experience
