Essential Competencies, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides nutrition counseling to patients and oversees the nutritional aspects of patient care.
- Completes nutrition assessment within 24 hours of admission on assigned patients.
- Establishes appropriate meal plans and weight goals based on individual patient needs.
- Works in cooperation with the Director of Nutrition Services to re-feed malnourished or medically unstable patients in a safe and consistent manor in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Documents patient sessions in the medical record according to Montecatini's policy, updates weekly
- Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patients, including rapport, therapeutic boundaries, and a working alliance towards treatment goals.
- Demonstrates ability to build rapport with families, provides education regarding eating disorders and how to provide nutritional support to the loved one.
- Completes discharge plan per Montecatini policy.
- Facilitates group therapy and meal therapy.
- Maintains a group culture that ensures the safety of patients, which includes following group rule expectations identified in the Patient Handbook.
- Develops, revises, and implements modules for group nutrition therapy.
- Provides support to patients during meal therapy, including assisting patients in setting meal goals, redirecting rituals or inappropriate behavior.
- Facilitates post meal processing, including assisting patients in processing struggles, identifying risks for ED behaviors, and assisting patients in identifying alternative coping strategies.
- Provides direction to staff regarding problem solving around nutritional concerns. Communicates patient's meal plan, food allergies, and any other special nutrition instructions clearly to all staff
- Demonstrates a commitment to advancing clinical skills and professional development.
- Maintains registration requirements by acquiring necessary continuing education units as determined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration .
- Regularly and actively participates in supervision meetings, trainings, and staff meetings.
- Demonstrates professional conduct, concern, respect and compassion toward all patients, families, co-workers and the public as a representative of Montecatini.
- Respects and maintains the confidentiality of all patient information
- Demonstrates ability to work in a cooperative manner as a team member.
- Demonstrates ability to problem solve issues with coworkers and refrain from involvement in negative talk regarding patients or coworkers.
- Communicates concerns regarding policies, working conditions, patients, or coworkers through appropriate channels.
- Demonstrates dependability to include attendance and punctuality.
- Is accountable-takes initiative and ownership of issues.
- Represents willingness/enthusiasm to create, embrace and facilitate change
- One year of eating disorder experience preferred Clear driver's record required. COVID vaccine and booster required.

Pay: $31.00 - $33.00 per hour
