Job Summary
Pregis is seeking a talented Procurement Operations Specialist to help support supplier sourcing events, manage supplier pricing, assist on financial analysis related to material and service spend, and supplier related escalation management. This is an exciting opportunity to bolster our skilled corporate Procurement team.
The Procurement Operations Specialist will provide Pregis with a wealth of knowledge related to material markets and financial analysis and support our 25 different manufacturing sites in the US from a centralized corporate position.
Responsibilities
Supplier Management Support
- Assist in managing existing supplier base
- Maintain supplier price lists
- Ad-hoc analysis on potential price changes with current supply base
- Support in the selection of vendors/suppliers based on the cost and quality of their materials
- Maintains contract compliance, supplier information, quotes, delivery expectations, purchase orders and materials
Management SAP Procurement Process
- Maintain price lists within the SAP system
- Support Procurement managers in daily PO creation via SAP
- Ad-hoc data extraction to support spend analysis
- Continues improvement of the SAP Procurement suite
Financial Analysis
- Develop relevant spend metrics to track and communicate to executive team
- Understanding of Procurement finance, including coding, and accrual to certain accounts
- Conduct routine cost-benefit analysis and contribute to continual process improvement
- Leads RFQ and quote analysis, supplier bids
Procurement Team Support
- Lead, organize, and develop bi-weekly procurement meeting
- Support Procurement team in RFP/RFQ events
- Aptitude to understand and track material markets/trends
- Support in the demand/sales planning
- Identify opportunities to leverage buying power, maintains supplier relationships and analyzes potential risk or disruptions that could impact operations
- Deliver market intelligence to all levels of management within the Procurement Team through presentations and reports
- Develop and support category managers through spend analytics and various ad-hoc reporting
Job Requirements
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2 to 5 years of Procurement experience and/or related finance experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
Skills & Training:
- Experience using SAP or a comparable ERP platform.
- Ability to develop strong relationships and work well cross functionally.
- Understanding of key finance principles and the ability to audit invoices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to compile and analyze performance data to develop metrics that support decision-making for resource allocation.
- Solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective time management, organization, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated personal and professional effectiveness in initiative across a complex organization.
- Collaborative; works well in a team environment.
