Rainforest Assistant Teacher Job Description
- Read, learn, and understand the creative curriculum
- Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each student
- Assist lead in lesson planning
- Assist in planning and implement activities that correspond with Illinois Early Learning Standards, creative curriculum and are developmentally appropriate for your age group
- Maintain daily open communication with parents.
- Document ouch/incident reports.
- Maintain confidentiality
- Arrange the classroom environment so the room is age appropriate and follows DCFS licensing standards
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Attend in-service and staff meetings
- Follow DCFS licensing standards
- Love for children and learning
- Must have the ability to nurture children, maintain respectful relationships with families and be sensitive to cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Register for Gateways to Opportunity and complete trainings
Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum of an associate degree in any discipline or CDA Credential recommended
- High school Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to lift and move with children (up to 40lbs.)
- Must demonstrate physical stamina and agility including the ability to be mobile for long periods throughout the day.
- Demonstrated ability to move from sitting (on chair or floor) to standing position easily and quickly;
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to run and be actively engaged physically with children.
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations, moving from sitting to standing, carrying children up to 40lbs and running quickly and effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
