Job Overview:
Member Services Representatives assist with all aspects of member/customer service including, but not limited to the following: processing requests on the teller line, processing transaction requests, assisting members on phone, researching account data, selling credit union products, and providing data as requested. The Member Services Representative should display a positive and energetic personality as well as be eager to learn and develop the necessary skills required. Strong communication skills as well as the ability to work well with others in a team environment is a necessity. Member Services Representatives ensure applicable duties are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
The position demands maturity, flexibility, drive to self-learn, ability to work in a team environment while maintaining an attention to detail. In addition, position requires face-to face interaction with members as well as the ability to positively promote and sale credit union products.
MEMBER SERVICES ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
· Process member requests and transactions in a positive, accurate and professional manner.
· Enthusiastically support the credit union’s focus on member service and sales goals.
· Provide exceptional courteous service at all times.
· Provide phone support to both external and internal member/customers. Follow through until full resolution of the concern/request.
· Capable to recognize service needs of members as well as sales opportunities. Further able to assist with such or refer to the appropriate party to assist.
· Maintenance of accurate transactional records.
· Familiarity with company policies and procedures regarding applicable functions and able to process transactions in accordance with such.
· Capable of identifying transactions with the potential for heightened risk.
· Successful and timely completion of all required compliance training.
· Special projects and other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· A minimum of one year experience in one or more of the following areas: Cash handling, credit union/banking, customer service/sales, call centers.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical skills including, but not limited to the ability to efficiently and effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new applications quickly.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Ability to build & maintain relationships with internal and external members.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Available to work full–time Monday-Friday with reliable work attendance and transportation.
· Available to work rotating Saturday shift from 8:30 am – 11:30 am.
· Work cooperative with both external and internal customers.
· Must be able to coordinate multiple and changing priorities while still meeting deadlines.
· Strong communication skills.
· Must be able to operate personal computer keyboard in order to create reports and other appropriate documentation as well as other general office equipment.
· Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
· Must be capable of delivering exceptional customer service.
· Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
· Must be capable of completing rotating duties.
· Must be able to work on occasional Saturday mornings.
· Must maintain personal accounts here and elsewhere in good standing in a professional manner.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
· Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 50lbs.
· Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
· Repetitive motions and extensive keyboarding.
· Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
