The Underwriting Manager at Greenbox Capital is accountable for the team of Underwriters who are responsible for identifying, gathering, and analyzing relevant information to assess credit risk, determine sources of repayment, decline applications, and ensure compliance with applicable credit policies, procedures, and the company's risk philosophy in an effort to mitigate loss. Leaders at Greenbox Capital work to support members of their team to reach their goals, keep them accountable to their KPIs, promote the company culture and maintain quality control.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed credit evaluation to determine the credit worthiness of merchant; perform risk-based underwriting reviews of funding requests to identify and clear risk flags, which can include the analysis of bank statements, tax returns, financial statements, evaluate merchant interviews completed by underwriters, and various other business documentation to make a final decision.
- Communicate with ISO's, employees, and merchants in both written and verbal form to ensure that turn-times and time commitments are met. Resolve conflict as needed.
- Strategically recruit, train, evaluate and integrate top talent into our underwriting operations.
- Complete employee performance reviews and be full responsible for their development and productivity, and KPI performance
- Continuously improve infrastructure, training plan documentation and policy in department as opportunity presents itself. Efficiency is the objective.
- Ensure thorough training and evaluation to the extent that staff do not make it into production that are not proficient in process as measured by error rate. Manages ongoing training of the team.
Qualifications:
- At least 15 years of professional work experience
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing at least 10 people.
- At least 5 years of experience in underwriting or a related financial role.
- At least 5 years’ experience recruiting talent for its direct reports.
- Strong proficiency in MS office (will be tested)
Preferred:
- Has experience in working in Salesforce.
