Job Title Laser Operator
Position Summary:
The Laser Operator is responsible for operating the laser and/or other cutting machines to cut wood die boards and other materials. They will set up and adjust the laser machine to meet the correct specification. The Laser Operator will also ensure that there will be no issues before and after operating the laser device by routinely checking the equipment. They will need to monitor and maintain inventory of instruments and tools required to operate the machine. The Laser Operator is expected to drive Container Graphics CS1 mindset and always represent the company in a positive, energetic, and consistent manner. They report directly to the Production Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Operate a laser or other cutting machine to cut wood die boards and other materials
- Understand, perform, and record quality checks of wood die boards and other materials
- Read and understand job orders and CAD drawings
- Interpret drawings/specifications to understand requirements and production sequence
- Package finished parts for shipment
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping for laser/water jet and work area
- Perform basic machine troubleshooting
- Perform and record preventative maintenance and basic repairs
- Follow all CGC corporate safety program requirements
- Understand and participate in quality checks as required
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in work area
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
Education / Experience Requirements:
Position Level:
- Entry Level or Experienced
Minimum Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1- 3 Years of Laser Experience
- Electronic / Mechanical Background
Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
- Understand basic laser machine theory and technology
- Basic knowledge of math fundamentals, including but not limited to fractions, decimals, and basic geometry
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and caliper
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Basic knowledge of computer platforms
- Good verbal communications
- Knowledge of how to operate hand and power tools
Physical Requirements:
- Strength and mobility to perform the duties described above, i.e., standing, moving, lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling
- Ability to operate various tools and equipment, including power and hand tool
- Lift up to 65 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
