Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the accounting department. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily accounting operations and bookkeeping by following accounting best practices.
- Ensure timely & accurate transfer of account data to General Ledger.
- Analyze & review accounting transactions to prepare for month-end & year-end closing.
- Write and distribute emails, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms
- Prepare regularly scheduled reports
- Assist & review individual account reconciliations, analysis, and coding.
- Process daily reports
- Ability to organize multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines effectively
- Exception attention to detail
- Prepare & review weekly bank reconciliations.
- Meeting deadlines & contributing to a timely accounting closing process.
- Work with multiple entities and contracts, reconciliations, & monthly payments.
- Assist with audits, fact checks, and resolving financial discrepancies as a teamwork.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Preferred:
- Ability to see what’s NOT there (ie. find what’s missing or doesn’t fit)
- Ability to handle additional QuickBooks projects from time to time (such as conversions to/from QBO/QBDT, cleanups, new company files, etc)
- Above average Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, formulas)
- Go getter personality. Someone who can do the job, but also able to add-value to the organization as we continue to grow
- Inventory experience
Skills:
Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping principles
Experience with financial software such as QuickBooks Online is a MUST!
Advanced in Excel: macros, formulas and complex spreadsheets
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively
Physical Requirements:
- The role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
