GOAL: To support the Board of Education, Superintendent and Central Office Team to ensure that all policies and procedures follow local, state and federal guidelines.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works twelve months; eight-hour workday. Salary as recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
- Responds to inquiries from the Board of Education. 2. Records, prepares and maintains all Board meeting minutes.
- Assembles materials for Board meetings and administrative meetings.
- Reviews incoming Board mail, official documents, requests, and letters of concern, confidential documents or letters that are to be given to the Superintendent.
- Processes conference and workshop requests and makes arrangements for travel and lodging for the Board members, Superintendent and Director of Business Operations.
- Prepares and files the statement of Economic Interest list with the Office of the Cook County Clerk.
- Processes Travel allowance reimbursement, check request and reports of the Board and Superintendent.
- Coordinate Superintendent Schedule.
- Schedule appointments for Central Office Team.
- Serves as confidential Executive Secretary to the Superintendent.
- Apprises Superintendent of all requests made by Board members.
- Completes official documents, reports and school calendar accurately and submits them to ISBE.
- Maintains personnel files, insurance files, seniority records, Superintendent’s files, policy manual (maintain updates of policies and make sure each book is updated when new policies are made) and staff directory.
- Prepares contracts for probationary teachers.
- Processes conference and workshop requests and makes arrangements for travel and lodging for the Board members, Superintendent and Director.
- Attends Policy Committee meetings with Superintendent and Board Members
- Observes and follows all District policies and procedures.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality of all District records and information.
- Manages time efficiently and effectively.
- Displays a pleasant, businesslike demeanor in all interactions with Board Members, Parents, Community Members, Staff and Students. This includes but not limited to: Answering phones
- Maintains District files.
- Displays a high level of productivity and organization.
- Maintains Communication Log.
- Composes and writes correspondence and memoranda which illustrate proficiency in language usage and mechanics.
- Orders and maintains District Office Supplies.
- Prepares District/Community newsletter (formatting, publishing, printing, dissemination)
- Assists in the main office as needed.
- Displays a pleasant, businesslike demeanor in all interactions with students, parents, staff and community members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
