JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Director of Quality is responsible for developing, implementing and leading a comprehensive quality program in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations, and evidenced based guidelines to improve clinical outcomes, minimize resident and staff harm, and enhance value. Establishes annual quality plan and goals aligned with the organization’s strategic plan. Leads through the principles of high reliability to support the mission and a culture of safety. Participates as a member of the management team in planning, evidenced based policy formulation, and administrative decision making with attention to job responsibilities and essential functions.
Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Directs all aspects of the quality program including culture of safety and high reliability, infection prevention and caregiver health, incident reporting, regulatory requirements, accreditation, and associated staff training and education.
- Develops and executes annual quality plan through the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC). Leads QAC charter and meeting. Participates in the Shared Governance Council.
- Supports Executive Director with Risk Management issues.
- Develops policies and procedures and supports training and implementation as appropriate.
- Collaborates with internal departments as needed.
- Executes process improvement and research activities that can make meaningful contributions to the quality and economy of Pope’s Place services.
- Reviews budget and financials; participates in financial planning to ensure facility operates within allocated funds and cost-effective way.
- Fosters a collaborative, team-oriented environment by promoting respect and core values, motivational leadership, open communication and positive interaction on a daily basis.
- Serves as a spokesperson for Quality, performs external reporting, and represents Pope’s Place with external organizations as appropriate.
- Adheres to HIPAA and all state and federal medical privacy laws.

- Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations pertaining to home health care and adult family homes.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree in quality, Public Health, Nursing (with current state RN license) or equivalent
At least five years of quality and/or infection prevention experience in a healthcare setting
CPHQ or CIC or equivalent certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Black Belt)
Must pass a State and Federal Background Check, including fingerprints
Valid State Driver’s License
Must maintain current vehicle insurance.
Proof of licensing required vaccinations
Abuse Prevention Systems Sexual Abuse Awareness Training within 90 days of hire
DDA Developmental Disabilities Specialty Training within 90 days of hire
Work Environment
This position is inclusive of all resident care programs of Pope’s Place. The position requires flexibility as hours of work are subject to operational needs. Share administrative on call duties on a rotating schedule.
The environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and other potential hazards. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and follow strict guidelines to protect self and residents from infectious disease.
Travel
Out of town travel may be required for this position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $116,600.00 - $169,600.00 per year
