Dispatcher
One of North America’s largest, award winning entertainment trucking companies is seeking a team-oriented individual to join our dispatch team. Our dispatchers play a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing our operations to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Candidates need to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, as well as have good organizational skills. Preferred candidates will have prior dispatching experience.
Some of the job duties include:
- Collect and consolidate information from our Sales and Support departments to efficiently schedule and dispatch drivers based on urgency, proximity, and skill set.
- Represent the needs and demands of both client and company to drivers, vendors, venues, colleagues, and law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain real-time awareness of drivers' activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes.
- Serve as liaison between the drivers and the Sales department, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Record and maintain accurate logs of service calls, dispatches, and any other relevant information using our dispatch software.
- Quickly resolve any issues that arise during dispatch operations, utilizing resources effectively to minimize downtime and delays.
- Work closely with drivers, management, and other dispatchers to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Participate in the night and weekend on-call rotation with other dispatchers.
Qualifications should include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in dispatching, logistics, or related field preferred
- Functional with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Familiarity with dispatch software and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle a high-volume workload and prioritize tasks effectively
- Quick decision-making skills and ability to juggle, control, and recall large amounts of ever-changing data
- Dedication to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a positive team environment
Hours are Monday through Friday 08:00 – 17:00 with on-call assistance approximately one night per week and one weekend per month.
