We are currently seeking a skilled Outpatient Coder to complement our dynamic team. As an Outpatient Coding Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the lifecycle claim management process, ensuring accurate and timely claim submissions for our multispecialty outpatient clinics. This is a Hybrid role. You will be working remote with 2 in-office days per month.
Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Candidates must reside in-state)
Responsibilities:

Proficiently read and interpret medical records to assign precise medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and evaluation and management services in accordance with national coding guidelines.

Maintain a thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and services.

Review all documentation for accuracy and completeness on a daily basis, obtaining any missing information from providers and clinical staff.

Identify all chargeable items within each progress note and ensure proper CPT/HCPCS codes are assigned.

Serve as a knowledgeable resource for clinical staff and team members, offering expertise in coding practices.

Prioritize tasks to ensure completion of critical duties, such as charge entry and edit handling, before month-end deadlines.

Attend meetings and training sessions as directed.

Requirements:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Knowledge of current CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifier experience

Experience with both in-network and out-of-network billing
-
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required

Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) certification preferred

High school diploma or GED required
