We are actively seeking a full-time Accounting and Auditing Manager with Real Estate industry experience to join our growing firm! This is remote-based in the U.S. but opened to individuals living near the NJ/NYC offices.
Summary:
Responsible for all phases of an engagement, including planning and execution, within established time frames and budgets; responsible for reviewing team member work, training and evaluating team members assigned to the engagement. Must have an advanced level of accounting and auditing knowledge and a working knowledge of income tax laws.

Expertise and Technical Skills

Understand and stay up to date on professional standards, and Sax LLP policies and industry guidance and proactively and appropriately apply these to client situations

Ability to research, interpret, document, and arrive at appropriate conclusions

Complete Manager level review for engagements in accordance with the Firm’s quality control policies

Develop strong industry specialized knowledge and be able to run all engagements within the industry

Ability to resolve complex accounting issues and display sound risk management decision-making through use of appropriate professional skepticism, objectivity, integrity, due care, and high quality

Proficient understanding of real estate tax matters, specifically partnership tax, and the ability to review partnership tax returns in tax preparation software

Familiarity with clients’ real estate accounting software and reports such as Buildium, AppFolio and Yardi
-
Strong accounting and bookkeeping knowledge relevant to real estate entities and assist clients with year-end adjustments
Firm Economics and Business Growth

Strong awareness of engagement economics and the key drivers of success/profitability

Monitor and evaluate engagement realization and leverage staff resources to meet client deadlines

Assist partners in the proposal and billing process as necessary

Develop extensive knowledge of the Firm’s service line offerings in all business units and possess the ability to cross sell those services

Sustain performance around business development activities

Contribute to building Firm awareness and reputation by actively participating in relevant marketing, media and/or through leadership development efforts (e.g. writing articles, speaking at industry events, etc.)

Develop and maintain internal and external networks and COI’s who can provide vital information and resources, such as joining a committee in an outside organization.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Accounting
-
6+ years’ experience in public accounting
-
Real Estate industry experience is a MUST
-
CPA license qualified and actively pursuing

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
