What You'll Do
HELP USA is seeking a Head Cook to join the food services team at one of our transitional, shelter housing sites. You’ll be responsible for providing nutritious meals to our residents and ensuring that Board of Health regulations are followed with regard to kitchen cleanliness, food preparation, and food services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, preparing and serving meals that follow local and federal nutritional guidelines.
- Maintaining inventory records of food and kitchen supplies, placing weekly and monthly purchase requisitions, and making local food purchases when necessary.
- Maintaining kitchen, dining room, and all related equipment in a clean, orderly, and sanitary manner and in accordance with all Board of Health regulations.
- Supervising employees assigned to the kitchen and establishing regular schedules for kitchen staff.
You’re a great fit for this role if you have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent OR equivalent experience and skills.
- Food Handler’s Certificate required.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the food service industry.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Willingness to continue training in food preparation and related courses.
