We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Pediatric Dental Assistant will support our dentists in providing high-quality dental care to children. This role involves assisting with dental procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring a positive experience for our young patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a genuine interest in working with children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Manage infection control by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Ensure patients are comfortable before, during, and after dental treatments.
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
- Educate patients (and parents) on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
- Record treatment information in patient records.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized dental operatory and office.
- Assist with front office tasks as needed, including answering phones and scheduling appointments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Dental Assistant certification (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred.
- Previous experience working as a Dental Assistant, preferably in a pediatric setting.
- CPR certification.
- Prophy certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with children and create a positive, comforting environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of dental software and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
