Position Overview:
The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for preparing various monthly journal entries and accruals in accordance with GAAP and company financial policy, as well as analyzing business data to support Optima’s overall business goals and objectives. This position will closely partner with other business functions to appropriately account for and drive day to day operations within Corporate. The ideal candidate will be expected to gain an understanding of how Corporate supports the business and participate in various initiatives to make continuous improvement in business practice.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting will be responsible of the following:
· Completion and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, including monitoring of corporate prepaid expenses and accrued expenses
· Preparation of monthly debt rollforward and other debt related reporting, as needed
· Preparation of monthly account reconciliations, flux analysis, and reporting requirements
· Provide accounting and analytical support for FP&A and other business functions
· Liaise with Americas/International accounting teams
· Preparation of monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows) for bank and shareholder reporting
· Execute steps to close accounting periods within NetSuite
· Preparation of various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external reporting, as well as audit requests
· Provide interim and year-end audit support
· Ad hoc projects
Skills and Qualifications:
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years Accounting/FP&A experience
- CPA or MBA candidate preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and embrace change
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
- Proficient in MS Office Products
- NetSuite/Oracle PBCS experience a big plus
